To get the most out of specialty grains, you first steep the
crushed grains in 150 - 160 deg F. water for 30 minutes, then strain
into brewpot and rinse with an equal amount of water at the
same temperature. The normal ratio of grain to water is 1.5 quarts
of water to 1 pound of grain.

Degrees Lovibond (L)
Lovibond degrees is the U.S. system for rating malt by its
coloring ability. A higher L rating means a darker beer, while a
lower rating means a lighter color will be imparted by the malt.
